Temporal Foundations - Psalm 1:5

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. (Psalm 1:5)
Therefore introduces the final conclusion. At last the time will come when every man will learn of his eternal dwelling. The wicked will be cast out; the ranks of the righteous will be cleansed from hypocrisy.

Because the wicked stand in the path of sinners, they will therefore be unable to stand in the judgment. Rather than standing in the path of the righteous and sipping upon streams of water, the wicked followed foolish counsel and fed on sin. Instead of meditating in the law of the LORD, the wicked found their pleasure remaining in the seat of scoffers. Many of them lived righteous lives by the world's standards, but they did so for their own glory — so they will be driven away like chaff and will not stand in the judgment.

Just as the wicked will not stand in the judgment, neither will the wicked any longer succeed in blending in with the assembly of the righteous. God will cast out those hypocrites who were not found guilty here on earth. His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire (Matthew 3:12).
